Oh Hey!
My name is Kristen Spang, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a passion for optimizing my clients’ health and performance through evidence-based research and practice. With my unique background in Psychology coupled with my degrees in Dietetics and Human Nutrition, we can work together to develop a plan that is both sustainable and effective, still allowing you to live your absolute best life. I have an extensive background in sports nutrition, hypertrophy, weight gain, weight loss, and improving your overall relationship with food if you struggle with disordered eating (full disclosure: been there). Whatever your goal is, we will reach it together. Your journey is my journey and I can’t wait to embark on it together!
Sports Nutrition
Background
I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work alongside the dietitian at a company called Exos, an elite athletic training facility in Gulf Breeze, FL. At Exos I worked directly with NFL Combine athletes, NFL Free Agents, Pro Elite Baseball/Rugby players, youth athletes, and Special Forces military members. We analyzed body composition testing, developed meal plans individualized to each athlete and their needs, conducted hydration testing, provided nutrition education, and re-assessed goals and plans according to training regimens. I cannot stress enough the importance of proper nutrition when it comes to athletic performance, hypertrophy, weight loss, weight gain, etc…if you have a goal, dialing in your nutrition will help you get there exponentially faster and in a safer, more effective way.
Clinical
Background
I have had experience in an acute care hospital setting as well as long-term care facilities. Nutrition plays a shockingly big role in your likelihood to develop certain chronic diseases and even if those diseases are something you’re already dealing with, nutrition is the ideal way to make sure we optimize your health and make you stronger and healthier. Whether it is helping heal wounds, lowering your A1C, controlling your blood pressure, or any of the other myriad of health concerns, nutrition is key. Let’s tackle this together.
Personal Coaching Background
I love working with clients 1:1 and in a setting in which they feel comfortable because I feel like this is the best way to build trust and create a safe space to share your struggles, successes, and figure out the next steps. One size does NOT fit all when it comes to lifestyle changes. I have had clients who wanted to put on weight, lose weight, change their body compositions, develop a healthier relationship with food; you name it, I have different approaches to it.
I want to find the way you feel most comfortable and only make changes that you are ready for and that fit into your lifestyle. This isn’t a quick fix or a crash diet; it’s learning about listening to your body, seeing how it responds to different changes, and adapting as we go.
